Yoga For The Heart

I began this year with the affirmation, “May I live a life of intention.” This affirmation for me has been a reminder to return to the heart. The heart of practice, and the gentle nurturing of my own precious heart to live out my heart’s deepest intentions for this life.

Therefore, this month I am whole heartedly devoting myself to “abide with” the Brahma Viharas, the Buddhist heart practices, of Loving Kindness, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity to cultivate a courageous and fearless heart.

These practices have healed my hardness or heart from having my heart broken in two, and have created a softness and spaciousness to allow my heart to be broken into once again.

It is in our nature to forget, so I return over and over again to these practices to remember the infinite capacity of the heart to hold all things, and make all things pure. I intend to remember with these practices the innate abundance, connectedness, courage and joy that abides within each of our hearts. And it will be a great privilege and gift to share these practices with you this month.

Each week will be spent focusing on one of the Brahma Viharas.
